Join members of two local groups as we come together for an evening of frivolity and making new friends.
Did you join one of the groups over the last couple years and haven't gotten a chance to meet anybody yet? Welcome! Long timer? Come on down! Don't drink booze? The sodas and Detroit pizza are plentiful! Don't care for people much but figure you should get out of the house once in a blue moon? We have a spot for you as well!
The people: Bi peeps from SDBW and amBi along with their guests. Bring your friends and partners. The more the merrier! The Halloween season felt like the perfect excuse for this kind of mixer last year and it's time for a repeat.
The place: Desi's is once again our place to mingle. The menu from Angry Pete's is delicious and affordable and the vibe is definitely dive. They've got pool tables, a jukebox, a dart board, and plenty of barstools to make this a casual and roomy spot for us to hang out.
The date: We hold our event in November so you don't have to miss a single party this season and have yet another excuse to dress up in a costume. So wear a costume, or don't, the choice is yours. I realize the timing is a bit unorthodox, but I feel like we always pull it off. We're here, we're queer, we're dressed up like whatever we want to be.
Festive Fun: Costume Contest is real informal, but if you're a winner you're going to get a little something! Wouldn't be caught dead in a costume but still want the chance to win a prize? Random luck might be on your side via the raffle! There will be cupcakes, homemade with love (and hopefully not hair), fancily decorated with the finest spooky sprinkles one can source on Amazon for under 10 dollars. There'll also be a candy assortment so you can stuff your pockets full before fleeing into the night.
