If you've never been to a cookie swap, here's how it works:
- Bake a good amount of your favorite shareable treat.
- Bring it to the event, along with a copy of the recipe & any of its dietary restrictions (gluten-free, sugar-free, etc).
- Grab a plate or two, peruse the offerings, and take what you like!
This is a good way to put together a unique plate to bring home for the holidays (or to another party that will be WAY LESS FUN than this one) without breaking the bank. And if you have any particular needs or wants from the tasty treats, you can see the recipe.
If you aren't a baker and are going to buy cookies, please be sure to buy interesting ones. No oreos or off the shelf chocolate chip cookies, please.
BONUS POINTS: Wear an ugly, silly, or outrageous sweater! Many of us have these from a sweet and crafty grandma, a thrift store find, or maybe a high-fashion house that decided to get in on the trend a few years ago. Wear something fun or festive! This way no one has to make a fuss over what they'll wear. Everyone wins.
We will provide paper plates and cling wrap for you to bring your stash home, but feel free to stay and socialize. It's always good to see chosen family before we scatter to the four corners until the New Year.
We will provide drinks.
Hooray! Cookies! See you then!
