Let's hike in the San Rafael Hills to the Cerro Negro Lookout (Chrysler-Bell Victory air raid siren) active until the 1980s.

The trail starts off just next to the sign for Descanso Gardens on Descanso Drive.
The trail makes a pretty immediate ascent through some oaks and a series of switchbacks.
Look down into Descanso Gardens from above.
There will be nice views of the San Gabriels and the Verdugo mountains.
Most of the hike is along the fire road. Not much shade.
We will take short breaks along the way and a longer one at the summit.
We will hike at a relaxing pace. No hiker left behind.
We will wait for 10 minutes and leave promptly at 9:25 am
