It's my birthday! Please join me for an evening of fun. At least I hope it'll be fun. I haven't had a birthday party in 25 years. There's no way it can be worse than my last one! There will be drinks & eats from the bar as usual, lazy games, some kind of cake, and probably the second (or at least a serious contender for third) best Kourtney you know- ME!
The location: Desi's! I know, I know. "Desi's again?" YES. It's comfortable and they love us there. Plus do you know how many people still haven't been there? A bunch. So come on out! BUT to make the old girl feel special, like slapping on a new set of sparkly nipple tassles- we'll be in the upstairs room. F-A-N-C-Y. That'll give us more chairs, bigger tables, and space for the games I want to play. I like to throw things, okay? Darts, balls, beanbags. I'm a simple girl so we'll see what comes up. We're still free to mingle in the bar area and downstairs if you like hanging by the bathrooms. But the upstairs will be the party headquarters aka cake station. What kind of cake? Heck if I know, but I'm working on it.
The people: hopefully you, a bunch of bi peeps from our meetup groups, my rag-tag collection of assorted food friends, and random free-range queer folks I've picked up along the way as the magnetic weirdo that I am. So come on down and socialize or just sit in the corner. Either way works. I'll feel the numbers love and your ass is out of the house. "But I haven't been to an event before and I don't know you." You don't know me YET. There's no better time than now! While I am only getting older and hotter as the years go by, don't wait too long because eventually I'll be dead. Plus there are all the other people to meet here! You're bound to make a new friend or really enjoy a piece of pizza. It's Detroit-style so it has those browned cheese rims. So come on out, stranger!
The dress code: there isn't one. Wear whatever you'd like! Something comfy, something sexy, something ridiculous- I'm into it all. I'm going for dressy, but my usual cheap dressy, like a Funyun drizzled with truffle oil.
Hopefully you can make it out, even if you're only stopping by for a short while. Feel free to bring your partner or friends. Anybody you know who is a fan of dives, me, or just loves crashing random birthday parties. My kind of people really. See you soon!
